What is it?

With a focus on movement, mindfulness and meditation and life coaching, our retreats are a series of one-day and two-day getaways, which take place out in the elements at the purpose-built retreat venue, The Haybergill Centre in Cumbria (two-day retreats) and at various locations for one-day retreats.

As well as being an opportunity to get away from it all, our retreats are a perfect opportunity to practice yoga, movement &, mindfulness . They are also a fantastic opportunity to eat well, enjoy good company, taking time outside to really get you back to nature.

Walks, reading, talking with new friends, and even a nap or two are all encouraged, and should you wish to get involved, there will be workshops, movement sessions and philosophy talks planned into your retreat to enable you to refocus your mind as well as realign your body. Put simply, our retreats from The Yoga Place North are somewhere you can press pause and relax. You can detox your mind, nourish your body, and connect with yourself.

Who’s it for?

Everybody over the age of 16 (accompanied by and adult) is welcome on our retreats, and they are aimed at anybody who just needs space and time to themselves or wanting to change their mindset to how they currently function.

The two-day retreats are very much focussed on yoga, but complete beginners are just as welcome as more experience practitioners of the discipline.  Our one day retreats focus a little more on life coaching and changing the pathways of our mind to develop a healthy change. Yoga and movement are still part of the day but integrated with the coaching workshops.

Whilst there is much on offer for our retreat guests, there is no pressure for any of our clients to do anything more than just attend, sit back, and take in all the elements. Do as much or as little as you like, but know that the more you put in, the more you’ll get out.

Why should I get involved?

If you feel that you would benefit from a break, a more focussed commitment to your wellness journey, or some help along your pathway to fulfilment, then you should absolutely get involved at one of our retreats. Having spent your time and enjoyed your space improving your wellbeing, you’ll leave feeling detoxed, recharged and full of life. Your soul will smile and your body will show this. Why wouldn’t you benefit from that?

When are the sessions?

We run our two-day retreats three times a year, and our Seasonal retreat 4 times a year for each season we will centre around a key theme. Please look on our timetable and our website for the next available weekend retreat, or opt for one of our more regular one-day retreats which are available on a monthly basis. Our one-day retreats run from 10am until 6.30pm with all meals provided, and our two-day retreats all take place over weekends, and run from Friday evening at 5.30pm until Sunday 4pm, with all meals and accommodation included. Please note that limited on all of our retreats.


What do I do next?

Once you’ve booked, pack everything you will need to suit the season/weather. Note that we’ll advise where appropriate on any special equipment you may need, such as walking boots. All of your needs, including your food, will be taken care of, so the key thing you need to bring is an open mind and a willingness to immerse yourself in everything that’s offered to you during your stay. Please note that we like our clients to get to know their retreat companions, and therefore we encourage all attendees to meet beforehand at the car park of our wellness hub to arrange travel to the facility together.
